When we die, we leave an estate. Some people have settled a family trust. Most people simply leave behind a Will or a brief legal document setting out their wishes. These can cause problems because our loved ones struggle to understand our reasoning from these legal documents. If nothing more, they can reduce our life into a “black and white” document. To our family members, these documents can seem dry and riddled with legalese. Often, they are hard to understand and feel a mile away from the person they have lost.

The Rosemary Project aims to overcome these hurdles. We are supported by a senior estate and trust barrister, and we partner with progressive law firms to provide a product that truly records your needs. Our processes allow for interviews and videos, a proper way to show your chattels and personal items, and to explain your decision-making to reduce the risk of disputes and, ultimately, your wishes being ignored. You end up with a product that can be passed through the family, compared with a Will that normally gathers dust at a lawyer's office.

Our Mission

Meet the Inspiration

The Rosemary Project has assembled an expert team, with other specialists, to bring the Rosemary Project to life.

The Project started with lawyers, saying that Wills often did not really give families a true, personal, final message for their loved ones. This was coupled with leading litigation lawyers saying that there must be a better way after seeing so many family fallouts. The Rosemary Project was created with the aim to stop families hurting so much over Wills that go wrong.

Together with progressive law firms, the Project has now widened across New Zealand for everyone who wishes to have their story recorded in a more fitting way. The Project’s mission is to make video interviews or podcast recordings truly accessible to any client wanting to join.
